Our clients include some of the premier energy companies, institutional investors, government agencies and national energy research labs.  Representative engagements have ranged from acting as sole advisor on major wind power M&A transactions to structuring debt and tax equity financing for major renewable energy developers.

Alyra acted as the Exclusive Advisor to Spinnaker Energy in the buyout of a 707 MW wind and solar power portfolio.  Alyra was the Sole Advisor to Duke Energy regarding its acquisition of Tierra Energy, a wind power development company.  Alyra also advised Duke Energy regarding the $240 million acquisition of Catamount Energy.


Public Appointments

In December 2010 Mohammed Alam, the principal of Alyra, was appointed to the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee, U.S. Department of Commerce, to advise the U.S. Commerce Secretary on issues related to the global competitiveness of the U.S. renewable energy industry.  In January 2011 Mr. Alam was appointed to the Advisory Board of the Center for Sustainable Enterprise and Regional Competitiveness, UMass.  In 2009-10, Mr. Alam served as the External Reviewer to the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust, Commonwealth Wind Incentive Program, to advise on funding recommendation for community scale wind power projects.
